The CCGRS Critical Film Collective, Diversity Education, and Hispanic Heritage Month present a screening and discussion of No Más Bebés (No More Babies) on Tuesday, September 20, 6:00–8:00 p.m. in Todd Hall 230. The discussion will be facilitated by Veronica Sandoval.

No Más Bebés tells the story of 10 undocumented Mexican women who filed a class-action lawsuit (Madrigal v. Quilligan) in 1975 against L.A. County doctors, the state of California, and the federal government for sterilizing them without consent. Alongside an intrepid, 26-year-old Chicana lawyer and armed with hospital records secretly gathered by a whistle-blowing young doctor, the mothers stood up to powerful institutions in the name of justice.

Light refreshments will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
